“Today it no longer makes sense to publish a book in a physical format, unless it is something esthetically significant. Something that can be used in the most prestigious showrooms, or private collections, even before demonstrating the unfolding of the internalization of its’ meanings into the reasoning that derives from it.”
Thus the author distractedly rebuilds the meaning of his latest literary work presented today in his Studio in Faubourg, on booking, and available starting the 17th November 2015.
“Why to present it in France? Because if there is a place where the Italian culture can be protected Paris is the right one.” Adds Ampelio by surprise.
To create this publication he has chosen an unexpected medium: sandpaper. Furthermore, Shamanic appearance, the book reflects the style of the precious manuscript Kangyur . The ink for graphic is of precious stones powder, gold or silver.
With sandpaper, upon which he has imprinted his narration, Andrea Ampelio Meli has sanded the skin of people down to their raw nerves to form the most delicate, violent, and truthful words.
In three diverse episodes, in his caustic style, Andrea Ampelio Meli has investigated the possibility of revealing oneself in truth only in the moment in which there is a drop in concentration, an unplugging of the contingent. Because “the Truth is in a moment of distraction” (AAM).
An affectionate, arrogant, presumptuous and anti-politically correct composition. He interprets his work as if the female body were his tableau, and with alchemistic wisdom transmutes into gold the blood which has flown from the abrasions from the sandpaper’s scraping. As in the style of the ancient altar-piece, he fashions his opus.
