Introducing Bowlers London Walks, a Brand New Alternative Walking Tours Company
Bowlers London Walks is the brainchild of artist and writer Dr. Anita Ponton , a Londoner with a passion for walking and talking about art at the same time. Working in collaboration with photographer and fellow Londoner Flip WJ, we currently run four tours:
Tour of Notting Hill and the Portobello Road, exploring the history and characters of an area that has gone from slum to bijou in fifty short years. Find out about the roots of carnival, how the community came together out of the inequities of poverty to celebrate difference. Features Pink Floyd, The Clash, Mötorhead, Bob Marley , London Free School and much more
A tour from Chiswick, along the river Thames, to Hammersmith Bridge. Featuring an exploration of the life and work of the father of British painting and arch satirist William Hogarth & the prolific and influential Pre Raphaelite William Morris. Includes visits to Hogarth House & Kelmscott House.
From the rusting and abandoned waterfront quays at Greenwich to the Prime Meridian in the hillside Royal Observatory courtyard, this tiny geographical area is exceptionally rich in history and visual spectacle. Tour guided by a professional photographer
Tour from Angel to London Fields, exploring the border between Islington and Hackney, revealing a beautiful and historic hidden space in London with multiple opportunities for making unusual and original photographs. Guided by a professional photographer
All Bowlers guides are professional artists, writers, photographers and historians, with a love for all things London .
