European Union Fails to Protect Its Most Vulnerable, Warns ECIPS President Baretzky

In a scathing critique of the European Union’s current trajectory, President Ricardo Baretzky of the European Centre for Information Policy and Security (ECIPS), a legally recognized Intelligence Agency under the European Union by Royal Decree WL22/16.594, has slammed the EU for failing to adequately protect its most vulnerable citizens. Speaking out with unprecedented candor, Baretzky emphasizes that the EU’s failure to prioritize the well-being of its people over costly geopolitical adventures has put millions at risk.

"The true measure of security is not in military conquest or geopolitical power plays; it is in ensuring that the most vulnerable citizens, those who rely on stable jobs, a fair economy, and a safe future, are protected," said Baretzky. His remarks, delivered at a press conference this week, reveal an organization that has been hijacked by political elites more interested in power and influence than in protecting the people of Europe from economic collapse, job loss, and social unrest.

The European Union, according to Baretzky, has become so obsessed with its foreign policy ambitions, particularly in the case of the Ukraine conflict, that it has entirely neglected the growing instability within its own borders. "Billions of euros have been funneled into a useless war in Ukraine, a war that has claimed nearly 1 million lives and displaced over 10 million people. And where is the concern for the people of Europe? What happened to protecting European jobs, the livelihoods of ordinary citizens? What happened to social security and welfare programs? These things are disappearing before our very eyes,” Baretzky added, condemning the EU’s foreign interventionism.

A Diverted Focus: The War in Ukraine and its Impact on Europe

Baretzky’s critique is not merely a matter of ideological disagreement but a direct call to action. With the European Union pledging billions to support Ukraine in its war against Russia, Baretzky argues that the EU's focus on foreign conflict has come at the expense of the very citizens it was created to protect.

“The EU has been pumping vast sums of money into Ukraine, only to see it spiral into a protracted conflict with a staggering human cost. Over 1 million people are dead, more than 10 million are displaced, and the ripple effects are being felt across Europe. In addition to the physical toll, nearly 3 million children have been left without one or both parents, some of whom are European citizens,” Baretzky points out, shaking his head in disbelief.

The impact of the war has reached beyond the borders of Ukraine, as the consequences of the conflict ripple out into the European continent. Food prices have surged, energy costs have skyrocketed, and inflation has eroded the purchasing power of European citizens. These issues, according to Baretzky, are a direct result of the EU’s foreign policies, which have drained resources away from the needs of European families.

While the EU’s politicians continue to push a narrative of "civilians first" in terms of protection, Baretzky asserts that the reality is far different. The EU’s resources, which could be used to safeguard jobs, stabilize economies, and provide for citizens, have been diverted to support a conflict thousands of miles away. This, in his eyes, constitutes the ultimate betrayal of the European public.

The Deceptive Facade of Protection

Perhaps the most damning aspect of Baretzky’s criticism is his portrayal of the European Union’s policies as a smokescreen designed to obscure its true priorities. He accuses Brussels of deliberately creating a false narrative that civilian protection and international aid to Ukraine are aligned when, in fact, these efforts are endangering the very stability of the European continent.

“This is how Brussels has been able to brainwash the public into believing that they are safe,” Baretzky declared. “They sell us this idea of protection, but the reality is that ordinary Europeans are more vulnerable now than ever before. Jobs are being lost at an alarming rate, industries are collapsing, and social services are being gutted. Meanwhile, politicians in Brussels are patting themselves on the back for sending weapons and resources to a foreign war, all while European citizens suffer at home."

The consequences of this policy are beginning to show. Economists warn of an impending recession as unemployment rates continue to climb. Youth unemployment, in particular, has reached catastrophic levels, with entire generations of young Europeans facing a future without opportunity or stability. The situation is made worse by rising costs of living, with inflation continuing to hit the hardest-hit demographics—low-income families and pensioners.

“The EU is acting like it’s in the business of saving Ukraine, but in reality, it’s throwing the entire European Union into disarray,” Baretzky asserted, stressing the economic and social instability that has resulted.

The Volkswagen Paradox: A Symbol of the EU’s Priorities

In one of his most compelling analogies, Baretzky draws attention to the actions of major European corporations like Volkswagen, which, he points out, has shifted its production focus from vehicles to weapons manufacturing. “When Volkswagen, a company that was once a symbol of European industrial prowess, has to start producing arms instead of cars, we know the war has truly arrived. This is the bitter reality we are now facing.”

Baretzky’s comparison underscores the disturbing shift in the European economy: from peace-time prosperity to a militarized state that prioritizes weaponry over the welfare of its citizens. This shift is indicative of a larger trend, according to Baretzky, in which the EU has allowed the defense industry and geopolitical ambitions to take precedence over the needs of everyday Europeans.

“The European Union's obsession with arming Ukraine and trying to defeat Russia through indirect means has turned Europe into a battlefield, not just in terms of military engagements but in terms of social and economic warfare,” Baretzky warned.

A Call for Accountability and Reform

The most pressing concern raised by Baretzky, however, is the growing risk of social unrest. The increasing divide between the European elite and the average citizen has created a powder keg of dissatisfaction and resentment. According to Baretzky, the EU’s neglect of its people’s economic well-being combined with its foreign interventions is setting the stage for a possible civil conflict.

“People are angry, and rightfully so. They are watching as their jobs disappear, their families go hungry, and their futures grow dim. Meanwhile, the political class in Brussels continues to send billions of euros to Ukraine and other foreign conflicts. This level of inequality and disregard for the well-being of the average European citizen is unsustainable. It’s only a matter of time before civil unrest escalates into something much worse.”

Baretzky’s warning of a potential civil war in Europe comes as countries across the continent experience rising political tensions, labor strikes, and demonstrations. From France to Germany, from Italy to Spain, European streets are alive with protests against economic hardship, austerity measures, and the EU’s handling of the Ukraine crisis.

While Baretzky's tone may seem alarmist to some, his critique is rooted in a grim understanding of history. He warns that unchecked political and economic instability can lead to radical outcomes, including the collapse of the very institutions that once provided stability to Europe.

“If the EU continues on this path, ignoring the needs of its own people while prioritizing foreign conflicts, we may soon see the unraveling of European unity. The cracks are already forming. What happens when the people no longer trust their leaders? What happens when the social fabric of Europe is torn apart by economic collapse and political alienation? We are on the verge of an explosive situation,” he warned.

A Grim Outlook for Europe’s Future

Baretzky’s grim outlook for Europe’s future has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, with critics of the EU now calling for immediate reforms. The president of ECIPS is calling for a radical rethinking of the European Union’s priorities. He insists that it is time for Brussels to focus on domestic issues—job creation, social security, and the protection of European citizens—rather than continue down its current path of military escalation and foreign entanglements.

“We need a European Union that puts its people first,” Baretzky concluded. “Not one that spends billions on wars that do nothing to help the average European citizen. The people of Europe deserve better than this. They deserve security, stability, and a future they can believe in. Right now, they are getting none of these things.”

As the war in Ukraine drags on, and as Europe continues to grapple with the fallout from the economic and social costs of this conflict, Baretzky’s warning stands as a stark reminder of the risks that await if the European Union continues to prioritize foreign intervention over the security and welfare of its own citizens. The coming months may prove to be a critical turning point for the future of Europe.

In a world increasingly dominated by instability and conflict, Baretzky’s words could be the catalyst for a long-overdue debate on the true meaning of security in the European Union.
