The current trend in Taiwan's jewellery market is to combine Oriental flavor with Western quintessence. The country's designers are creating highly individualistic and unprecedented designs, which are filled with Chinese culture and modern aesthetics. The craftsmanship is developed and sophisticated, blending the designers' infinite inspiration and innovative creativity. Many of them have received international awards and attention. Their artworks represent the strong personality and unique designs of Taiwan's designers.

This year's exhibition will feature a specially tailored "Designers' Area" to spotlight the latest and most outstanding artworks of Taiwan's leading and most talented jewellery designers. Over 40 designers will be exhibiting in this area and presenting their brilliant masterpieces.

Designer Chin-Tiao Shih

Mr. Shih has been working as a jewelry designer over thirty years. He loves to integrate folk culture and natural beauty into his artwork.

He has won numerous design accolades and patented his unique and innovative designs. He can transform the most traditional project into a forward thinking and modern masterpiece, and his aesthetic principal even breaks the limitation of techniques and materials to create a new breed of groundbreaking art. He attributes his endless inspirations to the ever-changing natural world.

As he says himself: "Art should imitate life, forever changing and evolving."

Mr. Shih will present his own line, Atlen Jewelry Co., Ltd, at the Fair.

Mr. Shih uses a variety of precious stones with his superb skills into full play to present each stone's characteristic perfectly.

Designer Wang, Yueh Yaw

Ms. Wang Yueh Yaw is well known for her Chinese influenced designs that pay homage to the rich tapestry of Chinese history and culture. You will find her artworks filled with oriental style design. She adores Chinese culture and loves to share the glory of it along with her jewelry to the world.

Her design mindset is usually based on Chinese auspicious meaning. She is inspired by each gemstone itself and gives each piece a rich story. You might consider them as an elegant landscape, a lyric or pastoral poem; when you purchase her jewelry collections, you are collecting a graceful story or historical series.

Designer Judie Ma

In 2011, Ms. Ma launched her flagship store Dynasty Artistic Jewellery Co., Ltd. Her sophisticated design is audacious and extravagant. Drawing inspirations from the Qing dynasty, her unique and extraordinary collection pays tribute to China's last imperial dynasty.

Ms. Ma's designer piece will be showcased in the designers' area grouped with TCJDA.

Materials: Tourmaline, kingfisher feathers, gilding, pearl, lazurite

The intricately designed necklace is quintessentially Asian with an aristocratic flair. Ms. Ma uses rare and exceptional stones such as dzi bead from Tibet and employs traditional techniques including Chinese filigree inlaying.

Designer Chun Ting Chang

Ms. Chang is a 23 year old young talented jewellery designer with a love for jadeite; she is always seeking for a fusion of jadeite and other precious stones. Her childhood memories and travel experience served as her design inspiration for transforming traditional jadeite pieces into modern stunning masterpieces. She gives a fresh take on classic jadeite jewellery.

In addition to reviving the traditional jadeite bangle, a whole new jewellery watch was born. The watch is provided with the feature of a jadeite bangle, while the refined craft of jewellery watch promotes the integrity itself.
