Belstaff AW16 Womenswear Collections
Following Pre-Fall's theme 'Heading North', Belstaff now turns its attention to polar expeditions taking inspiration from Edith "Jackie" Ronne's pioneering 1947 Antarctic expedition.

This collection celebrates her spirit with a mix of polar and moto inspirations, influenced by wintry landscape textures of snow, icebergs, rocks and Inuit dress. Motocross leather pants combine with fur-lined parkas, while embroidered jackets and patchworks of wools and skins bring richness to the collection. Belstaff's strong attitude and freedom of spirit is expressed but with soft materials and lines.

For the presentation, Belstaff took over the crypt of deconsecrated church One Marylebone, by London's Regent's Park. The high grey arches provided a stark backdrop to set the polar scene, with models placed on icy installations of transparent and opaque perspex.
Belstaff was delighted to welcome special guest female polar pioneer Christina Franco - one of the only women to attempt a sole expedition to the North Pole.
Working closely with Delphine, Liv Tyler , Belstaff Brand Ambassador and Creative Contributor, has interpreted the Belstaff spirit and archives by creating a capsule based on contemporary silhouettes and luxurious natural fibres, emphasising a strong and modern femininity.

Liv presented the products on mannequins in an intimate space at the AW16 presentation, with her new film for Belstaff, , projected onto a wall. In it, Liv retraces the footsteps of 1920s aviatrix Amelia Earhart , one of the first women Belstaff dressed.
