SANTA MONICA, Calif. (26 Gennaio 2009) — La Recording Academy ha appena confermato la presenza alla 51esima edizione dei Grammy Awards di: Paul McCartney (con la special guest Dave Grohl), Radiohead e T.I. con Justin Timberlake. Inoltre, ha comunicato che Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, T.I. e Kanye West si esibiranno in una speciale performance, cantando l’hit "Swagga Like Us".
Questi gli artisti che si aggiungono ai già nominati: Kenny Chesney, Coldplay, Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, Jennifer Hudson e Carrie Underwood.
La cerimonia si terrà allo STAPLES CENTER in Los Angeles e andrà in onda in diretta e in esclusiva per l’Italia su Music Box (Sky 717), la notte tra l’8 e il 9 febbraio, alle 2.00 di notte.
Jay-Z e Kanye West hanno ottenuto sei nominations. Jay-Z per le categorie: Album Of The Year, Best Rap Solo Performance, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song e due nominations in Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group. Kanye West invece gareggia per le categorie: Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Rap Song e due nominations in Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group.

I Radiohead hanno ottenuto cinque nominations nelle categorie: Album Of The Year e Best Alternative Album, Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals, Best Rock Song e Best Short Form Music Video per "House Of Cards."

T.I. è in corsa per due premi nelle categorie: Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group, Best Rap Song e Best Rap Album.

Paul McCartney ha due nominations per: Best Male Pop Vocal Performance e Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance.

Justin Timberlake è in nomination per la categoria Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals.
