News of the sale comes shortly after Hunting announced its donation of $150,000 to Patriot PAWS.  The nonprofit works to restore the independence of disabled American veterans and others with mobile disabilities by providing service dogs at no cost.

This is the second consecutive year Hunting has contributed to Patriot PAWS as part of its long-standing tradition of supporting a single Texas -based charity with a donation made on behalf of the Hunting Art Prize.  The competition is the most generous annual art prize in North America for painting and drawing; Kevin Peterson's work titled won this year's $50,000 award.

"Since selecting Patriot PAWS as the 2014 charity of the Hunting Art Prize, we have been deeply motivated and inspired by the important mission of this nonprofit," said Dennis Proctor , Chief Executive of Hunting.  " Marshall Harris shares that same interest in backing the work of Patriot PAWS in our community, and I couldn't be more appreciative of his generous donation."

Harris, whose works were recently featured in a solo show titled at the Nicole Longnecker Gallery in Houston , said he is honored to donate the print in support of Patriot PAWS.

"It is a distinct privilege to be able to give back to a competition that has given me so much, while supporting such a critical service for disabled American veterans," explained Harris.  "I have long admired the gifts Hunting has made both in and out of the art community, and I am very pleased to be able to contribute in this regard."

Since winning the 2013 Hunting Art Prize, Harris has had a solo show titled in both Houston and San Antonio ; the works focused on the point of transition when people or things are no longer useful.  He also participated in several group exhibitions in Michigan , Tennessee , and Texas , and is planning for another solo exhibition titled to be held at the Museum of Biblical Art in Dallas in the fall of 2015 or the spring of 2016.
