Andrea Ampelio Meli: Fondation J-o acquires rare collection of jewel purses to the value of 327 thousands euro
A rare collection of 5 egg handbags designed in 1985 by Italian artist Andrea Ampelio Meli was acquired by the Fondation J-o Basel (Switzerland) for the amount of 327,000.00 euro. That belonged to Asian collector M. Mori, is one of seven certified series that hide within them a precious jewel piece designed and made by the same Italian artist Andrea Ampelio Meli.

With this announcement, Mr. Schlacks, President of the Fondazione J-o, Swiss Institution active in the field of contemporary art based in Basel, has announced the acquisition of a rare collection of egg handbags designed and made by Italian artist Andrea Meli Ampelio.
The Fondation J-o acquires the art pieces with a total value of 327 000 euro.
Made in 1985 using an eggshell sterile and landscaped in goldsmith techniques perfected by the Russian master Peter Carl Fabergé, the five bags are numbered and certified and hidden inside an even more precious jewel that plays a unicorn made of diamonds and precious stones and realized in a single copy and one of a kind for dynamic expressiveness and emotion, by the same Italian artist.
The multidisciplinary artist Andrea Ampelio Meli born inl Noceto (Parma) and moved to Paris - Faubourg in the early 90s working for over twenty years in New York, London, Paris, Milan, Beijing and Tokyo where he also exhibited since the eighties and creates for the major luxury brands as well as renowned private clients.
In addition to exhibiting in important institutional Andrea Ampelio Meli creation has been the protagonist, in the past decade, for several acquisitions by major institutional and private operators of the international art world for values of several hundreds of thousands of euro.
