New Danville Selected as 2012 Hunting Art Prize Charity

Through a range of programs and enrichment activities, the nonprofit inspires self-reliance and autonomy by providing low-cost housing and educational sessions that teach basic life and job skills.

The Hunting Art Prize is a competition for established, emerging, and amateur artists throughout Texas in which participants vie for a $50,000 award. 

The recipient of the 2012 prize will be announced at a gala in Houston on April 28. 

The competition is historically the most generous annual award in North America for painting and drawing.  In 2006, the Hunting Art Prize moved to Houston after a quarter century in the United Kingdom , where it emerged as one of Great Britain's top art awards.
