Nickelson Changes Collection Radically to Street Couture 3.0

International fashion brand Nickelson is changing its collection radically this year. Rebranded as Nickelson Three·Zero it returns to its roots: quirky, striking and futuristic designs in which director Nick Amann and his new design team take pleasure creating. This adds up to an urban based line Nickelson describes as street couture 3.0.

International fashion brand Nickelson is changing its collection radically this year. Rebranded as Nickelson Three·Zero it returns to its roots: quirky, striking and futuristic designs in which director Nick Amann and his new design team take pleasure creating. This adds up to an urban based line Nickelson describes as street couture 3.0. 

The new collection will be presented to the international fashion world at the Panorama Fair in Berlin, from July 7 to 9, and the Modefabriek in Amsterdam, on 12 and 13 July. The first previews of the new collection will appear in the new winter collection at the end of October. The complete Nickelson Three·Zero summer collection 2016 comes out in January or February.

According to director Nick Amann market demands left the Nickelson collection less room for new designs in the past few years. "That's the downside of success. We could not stray too much from previous collections, which can make you loose inspiration and fun in designing," he says. "We've always been a bit strange in the world of fashion. We created designs we liked ourselves, without compromise. That's what we are going to do again. We want to be prominent, different from others."

Nickelson was founded in 1985 by Eddy Amann who named his brand after his son Nick (Nickelson means Nick the son). He took over the company in 2004 and expanded the successful (leather) men's wear collection with fashion for women, junior and shoes. The brand has seen huge growth, becoming a firm trendsetter all over Europe. Today Nickelson fashion products are being distributed to more than 26 countries and sold in 800 stores worldwide.

The Nickelson DNA is characterized by contemporary, authentic, tough and recognizable fashion with striking designs. This heritage is incorporated in the new collection, who - besides that - has radically changed. Therefore the label's well-known 'established 1954' tag is traded in for the new '3.0'. "We start with new, unusual forms and materials, asymmetrical, in different layers. We get our inspiration from the way young, trendy people all over the world combine fashion and wear it on the street," Amann explains.
