NEW YORK , Oct. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- GLG (Gerson Lehrman Group, Inc.) today announced its third class of Social Impact Fellows (GLGSocialImpact.com), giving six rising social innovators and their organizations access to the world's leading platform for expertise, professional learning, and mentorship. The 2016 Fellows and their organizations tackle a range of social challenges around the world – from water and sanitation to veteran support and rehabilitation in the U.S. to vocational education in Africa .

Beginning today with a two-day convening in New York City , the 2016 class joins GLG's community of leading innovators, investors, business leaders, entrepreneurs, corporations, and professional services firms, who learn every day from GLG's membership of top academics and policy specialists, C-suite executives, scientists, former public sector officials, and other professional leaders. Fellows and their teams will have unlimited access to GLG's 500,000 Council Members, at no cost, as they work to solve their toughest organizational challenges and create meaningful social impact.

Almost 500 leading early-stage and growing nonprofits and social enterprise organizations applied for this year's Fellowships. The competitive selection process was based on an analysis of the missions and models of the applicant organizations, and how well GLG's resources could help them improve efficacy and achieve impact at key moments in their growth.
