Gather in Wuzhen This Autumn in the Name of Theatre

The well-known drama, The Green Snake, put on by the China National Theatre, will mark the opening of the event while the event will close with the U.S.-produced hit drama The White Snake, written and directed by Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman. The Tony Award is considered the highest U.S. theatre honor. Mary Zimmerman'sThe White Snake brings the classic Chinese fable to life from a unique perspective by incorporating Chinese traditional opera elements. In addition, the festival will present La Voz Humana and The Elfin in Wall, two actress monodramas, as well as The Twelfth Night and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), both of which are staged in the celebration of the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare's birth.
