"Once again, we have assembled an enormously assorted collection comprised of some the most remarkable historical pieces from a host of the great figures in American and European history and literature," noted Joseph Maddalena, President and CEO of Profiles in History. "In addition to letters, manuscripts or autographs, collectors can find such rarities as Ronald Reagan's ornate Christmas Stocking, or a jar of his famous jelly beans; a signed check from Charles Lindbergh with his pocket compass; and if you're a true Kennedy fan, your interest might lie a cobalt-blue dinner plate produced for the dinner of the Inter-American Press Association.  This auction encompasses lots for all historical collectors."

Some of the most prominent pieces include:

The official April 20th, 1865 printed $100,000.00 REWARD Broadside Poster, for the capture of John Wilkes Booth and accomplices for the assassin of President Abraham Lincoln, authorized by Edwin M. Stanton, Secretary of War.  One of only four known of the design, the Poster is expected to garner $125,000+.

A Thomas Jefferson autograph letter and drawing re-inventing the Rumford fireplace for Monticello. Written while Jefferson was serving as vice-president, Jefferson re-invents the Rumford fireplace while building Monticello.  The pre-auction estimate is $60.000+ for this fine letter demonstrating Jefferson's keen interest in technology and invention.

An 1860 Abraham Lincoln highly important autograph letter conveying his uneasiness about carrying New York in the election and paying particularly close attention to the strategies pursued by his political nemesis, Stephen A. Douglas, is an extraordinary find.  Pre-auction estimate: $60,000+.

Samuel L. Clemens enthusiastically describes his experience negotiating a contract with one James. W. Paige, inventor of a typesetting machine for which Clemens had formed a company to manufacture and market in an 1893 autograph letter written to his wife Livy. Pre-auction estimate: $30,000+.

A lengthy and rare autograph manuscript of the aria "Son dama, ma so l'arte ancor delle plebe" from Antonio Salieriis being offered at a pre-auction estimate of $20,000+.

From Charles Dickens, the first edition, first issue of his American Notes for a General Circulation with the autograph luggage tag from his voyage to the United States, entirely in the hand of Dickens, bound into first volume constitutes a rare memento of Dickens' visit to the United States. Pre-auction estimate: $3,000+.

An historic Antarctic expedition archive from Richard E. Byrd includes Byrd's snowshoes, two typed signed letters, inscribed books and signed photograph. The archive comes directly from the grandson of William H. Todd and is an important archive with impeccable provenance. Pre-auction estimate is $20,000+.
