Watch Repair Survey - How Long Will Your Watch Battery Live?

Every business has seasonal ups and downs with various different demand curves. We investigated those of the watch repair industry. We surveyed almost 800 people on their watch repair habits. Our survey comprised of everyone from watch aficionados and collectors to casual watch wearers, the kind of individuals who might only own one watch and wear it to complete a certain look. What did our survey find?

This tends to show that men will get a complete watch repair rather than replacing their watch where as women will most likely just replace their watch if it is more than just a battery replacement that is needed.

Interestingly enough, even though most watch manufacturers state the expected life span of their batteries to be two years, over 50% of respondents both male and female reported their last watch battery to have lasted over 2 years. Below are the specifics.

Disappointingly, on the other end of the scale just over one tenth of respondents stated that their watch batteries didn't last more than 6 months. A total of 14.1% stated that their battery didn't last 12 months.

25% of watches that lasted over three years were Seiko's, and 9.1% were swatches.
