The Oxylane Innovation Awards: Meet the Latest in Sporting Innovation at Decathlon

The 2 seconds tent from Quechua, the Rollnet from Artengo, the Tilt bicycle from B'twin, are some of the innovations unveiled during previous Oxylane Innovation Awards events which have revolutionised the way people play sports. Since 2005, this international event has introduced and rewarded the best innovations from Oxylane's own brands before they go on sale in Decathlon stores.

This year will once again see ten new innovative products and services not only voted on by the audience attending the event, but also by the general public via the event's website, http://oia.oxylane.com. This will be a first in the history of the Oxylane Innovation Awards and is a logical next step for a company which, since its very beginnings (in 1976 with the opening of the first Decathlon shop in Englos, northern France ) has placed innovation and users at the heart of its business model.

The design and development of innovative products, based on the observation of players in action, embody expertise unique to Decathlon and the Oxylane brands. This 8th annual ceremony will showcase the sporting products of the future; those which are designed to improve the comfort, pleasure, and safety of all sports players, from runners to snowboarders to cyclists. These are products which have been developed and designed by the respective brands themselves in partnership with Oxylane's design department and its Research Research and Development Centre, based at Oxylane's international headquarters in Villeneuve d'Ascq. Ten innovations which will be used by sports players in 2014.
