La ricerca si è focalizzata sugli 0-14enni perché la maggior parte degli studi precedenti sul Long Covid si erano concentrati sugli adolescenti, con neonati e bambini poco rappresentati. Però "i nostri risultati sono in linea con studi precedenti sul Long Covid negli adolescenti - rimarca Kikkenborg Berg - che dimostravano come, sebbene le probabilità che i bambini soffrano di Long Covid siano basse, soprattutto rispetto ai gruppi controllo, questa sindrome deve essere riconosciuta e trattata seriamente.
