Roma, (informazione.it - comunicati stampa - arte e cultura) Twenty years since the dramatic death of the F1 pilot Ayrton Senna at Imola, an injury whih has never healed for the Brazilian population and for his admirers, the photographer Paola Ghirotti remembers him by exhibiting the images she shot in the Gran Premio Formula 1, in particular those disputed in Japan, in Suzuka and Aida.
The idea of the exhibition came about thanks to an on-line mee- ting with a few Brazilian, thus a few negatives which were lying around the photographic studio were chosen, and after Rome they will be exhibited in Ischia.
The generosity of the Brazilian pilot relives on the The Ayrton Senna Foundation. Was founded by Senna's sister. Before Senna left to Europe in 1994, he had a chat withhis sister that he wanted to do something for his country to help the childrenin Brasil, he had already created Senninha, but he felt that it wasn'tenough. Senna and his sister would talk about it, when he got back fromEurope, after the Gp of Imola.Vivianne decided to still continue with Senna'sdream, and therefore created the Senna Foundation. The Foundation is buildon the profits made by Senninha and ' a marca Senna'
For over twenty years Paola Ghirotti has thoroughly rese- arched the Nipponese traditions. She has exhibited at Goethe Institut di Kyōto, at The American Academy and Japonese Institute of culture in Rome (introduction of the exhibition by Fosco Maraini), and at The Fine Art Museum of Gifu. She has had publications in national and inter- national magazines and has coordinated and overseen publications in the geopolitical magazine “Mistero Giap- pone” for Limes, of the editorial group L’Espresso (2007). The photographer was in Tohoku a few weeks after the di- saster in March 2011, and owing to her solidarity and af- fection demonstrated towards the Japanese population struck by the tragedy, she received a certification from the Japanese Ambassador in Italy. She has been accredited for the Gran Premio of Formula 1 from 1990 to 1994, her last G.P. was in Japan, Aida
