After completing the program, several of the companies participated in the annual Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) Conference in Washington, D.C. to demonstrate their products and services with prospective customers and business partners. The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority and several other government services businesses also hosted meetings with the Israeli companies to introduce them to the Northern Virginia area and government contracting space. The participating Israeli companies had been selected from a substantial pool of qualified applicants after a comprehensive screening process that commenced in the firm's Tel Aviv office in August.
"This was a unique opportunity for us, especially in light of our resources in the Virginia-Washington, D.C. corridor and our firm's growing presence in Tel Aviv," said Mark Wishner, co-managing shareholder of the Tysons Corner office. "The forum fostered discussion on a wide array of topics and included presentations from officials in academia, government and the private sector. Most importantly, it provided an opportunity for us to cultivate relationships that established a foundation for collaboration on future projects."
The Gateway USA companies included technology manufacturers, developers of command and control systems, aerospace and defense contractors and electronic component suppliers. Attorneys from Greenberg Traurig's offices in Tysons Corner (Northern VA), Miami, and Tel Aviv attended the forum.
"We were pleased to be a sponsor of this inaugural event and host the leaders of several highly respected business and technology companies in Israel," said Gary Epstein, chair of Greenberg Traurig's Global Corporate & Securities Practice and managing shareholder of the firm's Tel Aviv office. "Our firm has a unified approach that allows attorneys in Northern Virginia, Tel Aviv, and throughout our 35-office platform to seamlessly help clients enhance and expand their businesses overseas to explore opportunities in the government contracting arena and beyond."
